Fuente de alimentación MEAN WELL MDD02N-05 2W 5V entrada 21.6-26.4V

The MEAN WELL MDD02N-05 is a compact DC-DC converter designed for PCB mounting in medical and industrial electronics. It provides isolated dual outputs of ±5 V with a combined power rating of 2 W and accepts an input voltage range of 21.6–26.4 Vdc. The module is supplied in a SIP through-hole package and incorporates 2xMOPP isolation suitable for applications that require enhanced patient and user protection. The unit is RoHS compliant and intended for integration where space-efficient, isolated low-voltage rails are needed.

Advantages

The converter delivers regulated dual ±5 V outputs at ±0.2 A per rail in a small footprint, enabling design flexibility for compact PCBs. High isolation performance with 2xMOPP makes it suitable for circuits with medical safety considerations. Its SIP through-hole package simplifies mechanical mounting and soldering on standard PCB assemblies. The defined input range and regulated outputs reduce the need for additional components for voltage conditioning.

Suitable for

• Medical device subsystems requiring isolated low-voltage rails
• Industrial control electronics with limited PCB space
• Sensor front-ends and analog circuitry needing ±5 V supplies
• Embedded systems where through-hole mounting is preferred

Key specifications

• Input voltage range: 21.6–26.4 V DC
• Output configuration: dual outputs, ±5 V
• Output current: ±0.2 A per rail
• Rated output power: 2 W
• Isolation: 2xMOPP (medical-grade isolation capability)
• Package type: SIP through-hole PCB mount
• Compliance: RoHS conformant

How to use

Mount the SIP through-hole converter on the PCB according to the manufacturer’s recommended footprint and observe proper soldering practices for through-hole components. Provide a stable DC input voltage within the 21.6–26.4 V range and verify correct polarity before powering. Route input and output traces to minimize noise coupling; maintain recommended creepage and clearance distances around the module to preserve isolation performance. Verify output voltages under expected load conditions and include appropriate input filtering or fusing in the surrounding circuit if required by system design.

Recommendations

Use the module within its specified input range and rated output current to ensure reliable operation and to maintain medical isolation characteristics. Follow PCB layout guidelines for isolated converters and apply system-level protection such as input fuses and transient suppression when deploying in medical or industrial environments.
