Tornillo para madera FISCHER PowerFast II 8,0 x 220 mm Cabeza avellanada TX galvanizado

FISCHER PowerFast II 8.0x220 mm is a wood construction screw with a countersunk head and TX drive, finished with a galvanised coating. It is intended for fastening load-bearing and general woodworking connections such as structural timber joints, beams, posts and decking. The countersunk head is designed to sit flush with the timber surface, while the zinc-based galvanised finish reduces the risk of corrosion during indoor use and in sheltered outdoor conditions.

Advantages

The screw combines a robust 8.0 mm diameter and 220 mm length to provide deep penetration and strong withdrawal resistance in solid timber and engineered wood. The TX drive reduces cam-out and allows efficient torque transfer from the driver, improving installation speed and reducing thread stripping. The countersunk head gives a neat, flush finish that can be concealed or left exposed depending on the application. The galvanised surface treatment offers basic corrosion protection suitable for interior and covered exterior applications.

Suitable for

• Structural timber connections and beam joinery
• Fixing posts, joists and rafters
• Decking substructure and heavy outdoor furniture (sheltered)
• General load-bearing carpentry and renovation work

Key specifications

• Diameter: 8.0 mm
• Length: 220 mm
• Head type: Countersunk
• Drive type: Torx (TX)
• Material/finish: Galvanised steel
• Intended use: Load-bearing wood connections

How to use

Pre-drill a pilot hole appropriate to the timber type and screw diameter when working close to edges, in hardwoods, or when accurate alignment is required. Use a compatible TX driver bit and set the torque on the power tool to match the screw size and substrate; apply steady pressure and drive the screw until the countersunk head is flush with the surface. For best results in structural applications, follow applicable building regulations and fastening guidelines regarding spacing, edge distances and load calculations.

Recommendations

Use the galvanised FISCHER PowerFast II 8.0x220 mm for indoor and covered outdoor timber work; avoid prolonged exposure to unprotected exterior environments or direct contact with treated timber unless additional corrosion protection is specified. When in doubt, select stainless or specially treated fasteners for exposed or coastal installations.
