Alicates de articulación deslizante Knipex 86 03 400

The Knipex 86 03 400 slip-joint pliers are 400 mm long, forged from chrome vanadium electric steel and oil-hardened for durability. They are designed for opening widths up to 85 mm (3 3/8") and replace a range of large open-end wrenches, providing strong gripping power and precise adjustment for plumbing, electrical and mechanical tasks.

Advantages

These pliers feature parallel smooth jaws that provide a solid, damage-free grip on brass, red brass and stainless steel fittings. A lever transmission greater than 10:1 delivers high gripping force while zero-backlash jaw pressure prevents damage to edges of sensitive components. The ratchet-type principle enables quick tightening and release of bolted connections, and a reliable hinge-bolt catch prevents unintentional shifting. An adjustment button allows push-to-adjust positioning directly on the workpiece.

Suitable for

• Plumbing installations and union joint assembly
• Electrical and mechanical repairs requiring strong grip
• Holding, pressing and bending workpieces
• Tasks needing replacement of large open-end wrenches up to AF 85 mm

How to use

Select the required jaw width by pushing the adjustment button and sliding the movable jaw until it matches the workpiece. Position the smooth parallel jaws onto the fitting or bolt and squeeze the handles; the lever transmission amplifies gripping force for secure holding. Use the ratchet-type action to tighten or release connections, and adjust as needed for damage-free handling of soft metal fittings.

Recommendations

For best results, use the pliers on clean, non-grooved surfaces of brass or stainless fittings and avoid excessive force beyond the specified maximum opening. Regularly clean and lightly oil the hinge and adjustment mechanism to maintain smooth operation and long service life.
