Squeeze the handles firmly using smooth, controlled force; the lever action will amplify hand input for easier cutting. For piano wire and hard wires, make progressive cuts close to the joint and reposition the material if necessary to avoid edge damage. Keep the cutting edges clean and free from debris for best performance.
