Angelbird Technologies AtomX SSDmini 1 TB mini SATA

The Angelbird AtomX SSDmini is a compact SATA SSD designed for use with Atomos recorder monitors such as the Ninja V and compatible with other Atomos models. This 1 TB mini SATA drive offers high sustained throughput, a small form factor tailored to the Atomos Master Caddy guide rail system, and a durable metal housing. It is intended for professional photo and video capture workflows that require reliable, portable storage.

Advantages

The AtomX SSDmini provides sustained high read and write performance, a reduced footprint to fit Atomos recorders, and a rugged construction that resists shock, temperature extremes, X‑rays and magnetic fields. It supports Stable Stream™ technology to maintain continuous recording without dropped frames and uses a SATA III interface for broad compatibility with Atomos devices and compatible adapters.

• Recording CDNG and ProRes RAW on Atomos Ninja and Shogun recorders
• 4K video capture up to 60p and higher-resolution ProRes RAW workflows
• On-location photography and videography requiring portable, durable storage

How to use

Slide the AtomX SSDmini into an Atomos Master Caddy or compatible adapter handle until it seats against the guide rails, then dock the caddy into the recorder’s SATA port. Use the recorder’s on‑screen menus to format the drive if required and select recording formats such as ProRes RAW or CDNG according to your project settings. After recording, remove the caddy and connect it to a SATA reader or compatible docking solution for file transfer.

Recommendations

For uninterrupted capture, choose recording settings that match the drive’s sustained write performance (for example, ProRes RAW and CDNG settings listed in your Atomos recorder documentation). Keep the drive in its caddy during transport and avoid exposing it to prolonged direct heat; verify formatting and firmware compatibility with your Atomos model before critical shoots.
