Aputure Lantern 90 negro blanco 90 cm cubierta de difusión jaula de ballenas

The Aputure Lantern 90 is a 90 cm lighting modifier that creates soft, evenly diffused volumetric light for photographic and video applications. It uses a quick-build spring cage and includes a 1-stop diffusion cover and a hook-and-loop skirt. The Lantern 90 shares the same design principle as the classic Aputure Lantern but offers a larger surface area for softer results and is available in black and white finishes.

Advantages

The Lantern 90 provides a large, uniform diffusion surface that reduces harsh shadows and produces smooth, wraparound illumination. Its quick-build spring cage and simple diffusion cover make setup and teardown fast and tool-free. The included skirt helps control spill while the 90 cm diameter yields broader coverage than smaller soft modifiers, making it suitable for lighting medium to large spaces.

Suitable for

• Portrait and fashion photography
• Interview and documentary video shoots
• Small studio or on-location group lighting
• Product and tabletop scenes requiring soft, even light

Key specifications

• Diameter: 90 cm
• Diffusion: 1-stop diffusion cover included
• Construction: spring cage frame for quick assembly
• Colors: black exterior / white interior diffuser options
• Accessories: hook-and-loop skirt included

How to use

Attach the Lantern 90 to a compatible light source using the spring cage and secure the diffusion cover over the frame. Position the lantern at the desired distance and height to control softness and coverage; moving the lantern closer to the subject increases softness while moving it farther increases coverage with slightly harder light. Use the skirt to limit light spill or shape the beam as needed.

Recommendations

Use the Lantern 90 with lights that can safely support the modifier’s size and weight. For controlled portraits, place the lantern slightly above eye level and angled down. For broader area lighting, center the lantern and raise to increase even coverage. Avoid exposing the diffusion fabric to direct flames or excessive heat.
