Cable óptico activo CBO SFP28-AOC-20M 20 m SFP28 Direct-Attach para conexiones de 25 Gb/s

Active Optical Cable CBO SFP28-AOC-20M is a 20 metre Active Optical Cable (AOC) in SFP28 form factor designed for 25Gb/s data links. It provides a factory-terminated, direct-attach optical connection between compatible SFP28 ports to support high-speed 25 Gigabit Ethernet links. By using optical fiber inside a compact SFP28 module housing, the cable extends link reach beyond typical copper DAC limits while keeping a low-weight, small-footprint connection for dense data centre environments.

Advantages

The CBO SFP28-AOC-20M delivers stable 25Gb/s performance with lower power consumption compared with separate electrical-to-optical transceiver pairs. Its integrated SFP28 form factor simplifies installation and reduces the number of active components in the link. The 20 m AOC eliminates the need for field termination and provides consistent optical performance across the full length, improving signal integrity and reducing electromagnetic interference concerns compared with copper alternatives.

Suitable for

• Server-to-switch connections in rack and row data centre layouts
• Switch-to-switch links within aggregation and leaf-spine topologies
• High-density cabling runs where space, weight and airflow are constrained
• Short to medium reach 25 Gigabit Ethernet interconnects inside equipment rooms

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 form factor, direct-attach active optical cable
• Nominal length: 20 m
• Data rate: supports 25 Gigabit per second links
• Media: multimode optical AOC assembly
• Power profile: low-power active optics compared with separate transceivers
• Typical use environment: data centre and enterprise networking racks

How to use

Install the Active Optical Cable by inserting each SFP28 module end into compatible SFP28 ports on your equipment until the module latches. Ensure both host ports are configured to support 25GbE operation and that any vendor compatibility restrictions are observed. No field termination is required; route the cable to avoid sharp bends and secure it to maintain proper bend radius. Monitor link status through the host devices to confirm a stable 25Gb/s connection.

Recommendations

For reliable long-term operation, avoid exceeding the specified bend radius and protect cable ends from contamination. Use the AOC within data centre ambient conditions and verify firmware or compatibility notes for the connected switches or servers to ensure full feature support at 25GbE.
