Cable óptico activo CBO SFP28-AOC-30M 30 m SFP28 AOC para conexiones de 25 Gbit/s

CBO SFP28-AOC-30M is a 30 m active optical cable with SFP28 connectors engineered for 25Gbps data links. The cable creates a fixed-length fiber connection between compatible SFP28 ports on switches, servers and network interface cards, offering lower latency and electrical isolation compared with equivalent copper assemblies. Its plug-and-play SFP28 form factor removes the need for separate transceivers and patch cords, simplifying data center cabling for uplinks, top-of-rack to aggregation links and high-speed server interconnects.

Advantages

The Active Optical Cable provides consistent 25Gbps performance over a 30 meter reach while reducing electromagnetic interference risks because of optical transmission. Integration with SFP28 ports keeps insertion straightforward and reduces the number of field-terminated connections. The fixed-length AOC design reduces signal loss variability and eliminates the need to manage separate fiber patch cables and small form-factor transceivers.

Suitable for

• Data centre uplinks between switches and aggregation equipment
• Top-of-rack to aggregation and spine links
• High-speed server-to-switch interconnects
• Low-latency connections in storage and compute clusters

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 on both ends compatible with SFP28 ports
• Data rate: 25 Gbps per link
• Length: 30 metres fixed-length optical cable
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC) with integrated optics
• Optical isolation: eliminates electrical common-mode issues
• Latency: optimized for low-latency short-reach links

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into a compatible SFP28 slot on the switch, server or NIC until it latches. Ensure both connected devices support 25Gbps SFP28 AOC links and have appropriate port settings. No separate transceivers or fiber patching are required; standard device diagnostics and port LEDs indicate link and activity status. For changes in topology, power down ports if required by the equipment vendor before inserting or removing the AOC to avoid hot-plug issues.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and keep bend radius within manufacturer guidance. Use appropriate cable management to prevent strain on connectors and maintain optimal airflow in racks. Verify firmware and driver compatibility for SFP28 ports on both ends before deployment to ensure reliable 25Gbps operation.
