How to use

Insert the RJ45 connectors into compatible Ethernet ports on switches, routers or patch panels until the latch clicks. Route the slim cable through cable managers or tray spaces to preserve the improved airflow benefits. For optimal signal performance, keep the patch cable length to the required minimum and avoid tight kinks; the smaller bending radius allows flexible placement but do not exceed manufacturer-recommended bend limits.

Recommendations

ACT recommends using shorter permanent link lengths than with standard 24 AWG patchcords to compensate for higher attenuation at higher frequencies. For Power over Ethernet (PoE) installations, limit bundle sizes to a maximum of 24 slimline cables to help control temperature rise in the bundle, in line with current guidance (ANSI TSB-184-A) that seeks to limit temperature increase to under 15 °C above ambient for the centre cable.
