Cable óptico activo AOC CBO SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q50M 50m para conexiones 25GbE

AOC CBO SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q50M 50m active optical cable is a factory-terminated fiber link for SFP28 ports, providing a 50-metre connection optimized for 25 Gigabit Ethernet. The cable uses an active optical design to deliver high-speed, low-latency links between servers, switches and storage devices in data centre and campus network environments. The hot-pluggable SFP28 connectors enable straightforward installation and replacement without powering down equipment.

Advantages

This active optical cable reduces electromagnetic interference and signal loss typical of long copper links, while consuming less power and generating less heat than some alternative media over equivalent distances. Its pre-terminated design ensures consistent optical performance and simplifies rack-to-rack or row-to-row interconnects. The SFP28 form factor supports standard 25GbE port compatibility and allows quick hot-swap deployment in populated network equipment.

Suitable for

• 25 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks between switches
• Server-to-switch connections in data centres
• Storage area network interconnects requiring short-reach high bandwidth
• Patch or direct attach links in high-density rack environments

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP28 to SFP28 active optical cable
• Supported data rate: 25 Gbit/s per lane (25GbE)
• Length: 50 metres fiber link
• Connector type: SFP28 hot-pluggable modules at each end
• Signal medium: Active optical fiber for reduced EMI and longer reach than copper
• Typical use: Short-reach, high-speed interconnects in racks and data centres

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on the devices to be linked, ensuring the module is fully seated and the bail or latch is secured. Most systems will recognise the active optical cable automatically; verify link status through device indicators or management interfaces. For safe handling, avoid bending the cable beyond recommended radius and keep connectors free from dust by using protective caps until installation.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, route the cable to minimise tight bends and mechanical stress, maintain a clean environment around connector ports, and confirm firmware and port settings support 25GbE operation. Use the cable for short-reach trunking and direct-attach scenarios where low latency and immunity to electromagnetic interference are priorities.
