Hikvision DS-2CD1623G2-LIZU/SL is an IP camera with a 2.8–12 mm varifocal lens designed for indoor and outdoor video surveillance. The camera provides an adjustable field of view to suit different monitoring points from wide-angle coverage to more focused scenes. It supports standard network connectivity and common IP camera features for continuous or event-driven recording, making it suitable for perimeter, entrance and room monitoring in residential and commercial settings.

Advantages

The varifocal lens allows flexible framing without replacing the unit, enabling installers to optimise coverage on site. Built for both indoor and outdoor use, the camera accommodates different mounting locations while keeping a compact profile. Network-based operation supports integration with video management systems and remote viewing, and the model provides image quality and functionality appropriate for routine surveillance tasks.

Suitable for

• Monitoring building entrances and lobbies
• Perimeter and outdoor area surveillance
• Interior rooms, corridors and retail spaces
• Small-to-medium business security systems

Key specifications

• Optics: varifocal lens, focal length 2.8–12 mm for adjustable field of view
• Application: suitable for indoor and outdoor installations
• Connectivity: network (IP) camera with remote viewing capability
• Mounting: ceiling or wall mount compatible (depending on installation)

How to use

Install the camera at the chosen location using a compatible mount and ensure the device is weather-protected if installed outdoors. Adjust the lens focal length between 2.8 mm and 12 mm to achieve the required field of view and focus. Connect the camera to the network and configure IP settings, recording schedules and motion or event triggers through the recorder or management software. Verify image framing and adjust exposure and other image parameters as needed for the scene.

Recommendations

For reliable outdoor performance, mount the camera under eaves or use an appropriate housing when exposed to direct weather. When fine detail is required, increase focal length and check focus at the target distance; for broader coverage, set the lens to the wider end. Regularly verify firmware and system integration to maintain compatibility with network video systems.
