Carcasa de almacenamiento Satechi ST-DDSM M.2 alimentada por USB 10 Gbit/s

The Satechi ST-DDSM Storage Drive Enclosure M.2 USB Powered 10 Gbit/s is a portable enclosure designed to house M.2 SSDs and provide high-speed external storage over a USB connection. It supports data transfer up to 10 Gbit/s, is finished in black and silver, and is USB powered for plug-and-play convenience. The enclosure includes a single Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) port on the host dock configuration and weighs approximately 0.4252 kg, making it compact and easy to carry.

Advantages

The enclosure offers fast data throughput for NVMe M.2 drives, enabling quick file transfers and responsive external storage. Its USB-powered design eliminates the need for an external power adapter in typical use, and the aluminium-accented black and silver finish provides a streamlined look that complements modern laptops. A lightweight build supports portability while maintaining a durable feel suitable for frequent handling.

Suitable for

• Expanding laptop or desktop storage with an M.2 NVMe or SATA SSD
• Quick backups, file transfers and data recovery tasks
• Mobile workflows where compact, USB-powered storage is needed

Key specifications

• Interface: USB (up to 10 Gbit/s data transfer rate)
• Compatible drives: M.2 SSDs (NVMe and SATA form factors supported by the enclosure)
• Power: USB-powered (no external power adapter required for standard operation)
• Material and finish: aluminium accents with black and silver colour scheme
• Weight: approximately 0.4252 kg
• Network: includes one Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) port on the docking configuration (1 Gbit/s)

How to use

Open the enclosure following the included instructions, insert a compatible M.2 SSD into the M.2 slot and secure it with the supplied screw. Connect the enclosure to a host computer using the provided USB cable; ensure the connection supports the enclosure's USB data rate for optimal performance. The device is USB powered, so no separate power source is typically necessary. After connecting, the host operating system should detect the drive and make it available for formatting, file transfers, backups, or other storage tasks.

Recommendations

Install an NVMe SSD to achieve the maximum 10 Gbit/s transfer speeds; use a SATA M.2 drive if compatible storage is required but at reduced transfer rates. For sustained heavy transfers, allow ventilation around the enclosure and avoid covering it to help heat dissipation. When transporting the enclosure with a drive installed, handle gently to protect the SSD and connectors.
