Conector de vídeo TNC ShiverPeaks 98885 para cable RG58/U, terminación por crimpado

The Video connector TNC ShiverPeaks 98885 for RG58/U cable with crimp termination is a threaded TNC male connector designed to mate with TNC female ports on video, RF and surveillance equipment. It is intended for use with RG58/U coaxial cable and provides a mechanically secure crimped connection for the centre conductor and outer conductor, delivering reliable RF/video signal transmission in field or workshop installations.

Advantages

This TNC connector offers a compact threaded interface that resists vibration and accidental disconnection compared with push-on types. Crimp termination provides consistent electrical contact and repeatable mechanical strength when installed with the correct crimp tools and ferrules. Compatibility with RG58/U cable makes it suitable for common analog video and RF applications where this coaxial type is specified.

Suitable for

• Analog CCTV and surveillance camera connections using RG58/U cable
• RF test setups and radio equipment requiring TNC interfaces
• Workshop or field installations where crimp termination is preferred
• Retrofit or repair of existing RG58/U coaxial cable runs

Key specifications

• Connector type: TNC male (threaded)
• Cable compatibility: RG58/U coaxial cable
• Termination method: crimp for inner conductor and outer ferrule
• Electrical use: RF/video signal transmission
• Typical use environment: surveillance, analog video systems, radio equipment

How to use

Prepare RG58/U cable by stripping the outer jacket, trimming the braid and dielectric to the recommended dimensions for this connector, then slide the crimp ferrule onto the cable. Insert the centre conductor into the pin and seat the dielectric into the connector body. Slide the ferrule over the braid and crimp with a compatible crimping tool sized for RG58/U ferrules. Finally, screw the assembled connector onto the mating TNC jack to ensure a secure threaded connection.

Recommendations

Use the specified crimp ferrules and a calibrated crimping tool rated for RG58/U to achieve proper mechanical and electrical performance. Inspect each connection for proper seating of the centre pin and full engagement of the ferrule over the braid. Avoid overtightening the mating nut on equipment ports to prevent damage to threads and ensure reliable signal integrity.
