Corning UniCam conector SC con pulido SuperPC, modelo 95-200-41, conector SC de fibra única

Corning UniCam SC Connector with SuperPC polish (single‑fiber SC plug) is a field-assembly connector designed for reliable fiber-optic cable termination. The connector uses the proven UniCam assembly method to provide consistent mechanical alignment in the compact SC form-factor, and the SuperPC endface finish reduces back reflection while maintaining stable physical contact. It is intended for telecommunications, LAN and patch panel installations where low-loss, repeatable single‑fiber connections are required.

Advantages

The UniCam SC connector offers a compact SC footprint combined with a straightforward field-assembly procedure that reduces installation time. Its SuperPC polished endface delivers low back reflection suitable for many single-mode and multimode applications. The connector’s mechanical design ensures repeatable mating and consistent optical performance across multiple connection cycles, while the standardized SC form-factor supports widespread compatibility with existing equipment and patch panels.

Suitable for

• Field termination of single-fiber cables in telecommunications networks
• LAN and enterprise network patching and repairs
• Patch panel and shelf installations requiring SC connectors
• On-site fiber repairs and quick connectorization tasks

Key specifications

• Connector type: SC single-fiber plug
• Endface polish: SuperPC (reduced back reflection)
• Assembly: field-assembly UniCam method for rapid termination
• Form factor: compact SC footprint compatible with standard SC adapters and panels
• Performance: designed for repeatable mechanical alignment and low insertion loss typical of SC connectors with SuperPC finish

How to use

Prepare the fiber by stripping, cleaving and cleaning according to standard fiber termination procedures. Follow the Corning UniCam field assembly instructions: insert the prepared fiber into the connector body, engage the UniCam retention mechanism and secure the fiber according to the specified procedure. Verify the endface cleanliness and perform optical testing (insertion loss and return loss) after termination to confirm acceptable performance. Use appropriate tools and personal protective equipment during termination and testing.

Recommendations

For consistent results, use proper cleave quality and ensure the ferrule endface is free of dust or debris before mating. SuperPC polish provides reduced back reflection but is not equivalent to APC for extremely reflection-sensitive applications; choose an APC-polished connector if the application requires the lowest possible return loss. Store unused connectors in protective caps and handle ferrules with care to avoid contamination or scratches.
