3M abrasive sanding discs 255P Hookit P180 150mm, pack of 100 are designed for medium-fine sanding and surface preparation. Each disc features a P180 grit arranged to provide consistent abrasion on wood, painted surfaces and primers. The Hookit backing allows quick attachment and removal on compatible orbital and rotary sanders, helping to maintain steady contact and reduce downtime during sanding cycles.

Advantages

The discs deliver uniform material removal with reduced clogging and balanced wear for predictable results across a pack. Hookit attachment simplifies changing discs while preserving pad life. The P180 abrasive grade is suitable for smoothing and feathering edges, removing minor surface defects and preparing substrates for filler or primer, offering reliable performance in workshop and on-site environments.

How to use

Select a compatible Hookit-backed sanding pad on your orbital or rotary sander and attach a disc by aligning and pressing the loop backing onto the pad. Begin sanding with light to moderate pressure and move the tool evenly across the work surface to avoid gouging. Monitor the abrasive wear and replace discs when material removal slows or the surface finish degrades. For best results, follow the sander manufacturer’s recommended speed and pressure settings and ensure dust extraction is used where applicable.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use these P180 discs for final smoothing and feathering rather than heavy stock removal. Employ progressive grit steps when moving from coarse to fine finishes, and keep the sanding surface clean of contaminants to extend disc life. Use appropriate personal protective equipment and dust extraction when sanding painted or treated surfaces.
