Tarjeta controladora HP Enterprise P440 12G SAS 4GB FBWC PCIe

HP Enterprise P440 12G SAS controller card with 4GB FBWC and PCIe interface is a server storage controller designed for enterprise environments. It supports 12Gb/s SAS connectivity and integrates a 4GB battery-free write cache (FBWC) to accelerate I/O operations while providing improved protection for cached data. The card fits PCIe host slots and is intended for managing RAID configurations and high-throughput workloads on servers and in data centers.

Advantages

The HP Enterprise P440 offers 12Gb/s SAS throughput and a 4GB FBWC to reduce write latency and increase sustained performance under heavy I/O. Its PCIe interface provides standard connectivity to server motherboards, and the design is focused on enterprise reliability for RAID management and large-scale storage tasks. The battery-free write cache reduces maintenance requirements associated with replaceable batteries.

Suitable for

• RAID configurations in enterprise servers
• High-throughput database and virtualization workloads
• Data center storage consolidation and expansion
• Applications requiring reliable cached write performance

How to use

Install the controller card into a compatible PCIe slot on the server motherboard following the server manufacturer's installation guidelines. Connect SAS cables between the controller and storage devices or backplane that support 12Gb/s SAS. Configure RAID arrays and cache settings through the server BIOS/UEFI management utility or the HP Enterprise storage management software provided for the P440. After configuration, monitor performance and health via the management tools to ensure correct operation.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use the P440 in servers that support PCIe host cards and 12Gb/s SAS devices. Keep firmware and management software up to date, and follow HP Enterprise guidelines for array configuration and monitoring. The FBWC provides cached write protection without a battery, reducing maintenance steps compared with battery-backed options.
