D-Link DWM-311G is a compact 4G LTE USB modem designed to provide mobile broadband connectivity through a standard USB interface. The device connects compatible laptops and desktop computers to 4G LTE networks for internet access while on the move. Its small form factor and plug-and-play operation make it suitable for situations where a fixed network is unavailable or as a backup connection for travel, remote work and basic data tasks such as web browsing, email and file transfer.

Advantages

The D-Link 4G LTE USB modem offers straightforward installation and use without requiring additional power adapters. Its USB interface delivers both data connectivity and power from the host device. The modem supports common mobile broadband features for stable connections on supported networks and is portable enough to carry in a laptop bag. The device provides a reliable option for temporary or mobile internet access when fixed-line services are impractical.

How to use

Follow on-screen prompts to install any required driver or connection software if prompted by the operating system. After installation, configure network settings and enter mobile operator credentials or a SIM PIN if required. Ensure the modem is placed where it can receive a strong mobile signal for optimal performance.

Recommendations

Use the modem with a data plan that matches your expected usage. For best results, connect the device directly to the computer’s USB port rather than through an unpowered USB hub. When travelling, position the computer near a window or open area to improve signal reception. For sustained high-bandwidth tasks, consider a dedicated router or fixed broadband where available.
