Monitor de batería Victron Energy BMV‑712 Smart 12V 500A con Bluetooth

The Victron Energy BMV‑712 Smart 12V 500A with Bluetooth is a battery monitor designed for 12V systems where accurate measurement of voltage, current and state of charge is required. The unit integrates a 500A shunt and a display module with Bluetooth connectivity for wireless monitoring. It records historical data, calculates time-to-go based on current consumption, and provides configurable alarms to warn of low or high voltage and other battery conditions. The monitor is intended for use in off-grid power systems, marine installations and vehicles where continuous battery monitoring helps maintain battery health and manage energy use.

Advantages

The BMV‑712 Smart combines a high-capacity 500A shunt with an intuitive display and Bluetooth connectivity, enabling both local readout and remote monitoring via compatible apps. It tracks cumulative ampere-hours and estimates state of charge from a user-programmed battery capacity and real-time measurements. Onboard logging of voltage, current and SOC provides a historical view of battery performance, and configurable alarms allow proactive responses to critical battery events.

Suitable for

• Off-grid solar systems and small renewable setups
• Marine electrical systems on boats and yachts
• Campervans, RVs and commercial vehicles with 12V battery banks
• Backup power installations and battery-based energy storage

Key specifications

• Nominal system voltage: 12 V
• Shunt capacity: 500 A
• Measures: voltage, current, cumulative ampere-hours and state of charge
• Time-to-go calculation based on present current draw and configured capacity
• Bluetooth wireless connectivity for monitoring and configuration
• Onboard data logging for historical voltage, current and SOC trends
• Configurable audible and visual alarms for voltage, current and SOC thresholds

How to use

Install the 500A shunt in the negative lead between the battery bank and the load/charging system, following electrical safety practices and installation instructions supplied by the manufacturer. Mount the display module in a visible location and connect it to the shunt using the supplied cable. Configure the battery capacity, charge/discharge parameters and alarm thresholds via the display or through a Bluetooth-connected device using Victron-compatible apps. After setup, the monitor will continuously measure and log voltage, current and state of charge, and will update time-to-go estimates in real time.

Recommendations

Regularly review logged data to assess battery performance and adjust system settings. Ensure correct battery capacity and absorption/float parameters are entered to improve state-of-charge accuracy, and test alarm settings after installation to confirm proper operation.
