Portaminas mecánico Staedtler 778 05-9, 0,5 mm, cuerpo hexagonal, negro, mina negra

Staedtler 778 05-9 is a mechanical pencil with a 0.5 mm black lead and a hexagonal black shaft. Delivered as a single piece, it combines a slim hexagonal barrel with metal tip and clip, an integrated rotary eraser in the pusher and a retractable lead tube for pocket safety. The pencil is suitable for precise technical drawing, everyday writing and sketching; the hexagonal shape improves grip and prevents rolling on a desk.

Advantages

The pencil offers a slim, matt-finish hexagonal barrel that provides a stable, ergonomic grip and reduces unwanted rolling. A metal tip and clip increase durability in daily use, while the cushion-loaded lead mechanism helps reduce breakage for controlled line work. The integrated rotary eraser and easy refill design support uninterrupted work sessions, and the retractable lead tube adds a pocket-safe feature.

Suitable for

• Technical and engineering drawing requiring 0.5 mm precision
• Everyday note-taking and office use
• Sketching and fine-detail illustration
• Students and professionals who prefer a non-rolling hexagonal barrel

When it may not be suitable

This pencil uses 0.5 mm lead only, so it is not suitable for applications that require thicker or softer leads such as broad sketching or heavy shading. Users who need multiple lead hardnesses pre-installed or very soft graphite for tonal work may prefer other tools.

Key specifications

• Lead size: 0.5 mm
• Lead colour: Black
• Barrel shape: Hexagonal
• Barrel colour and finish: Black, matt
• Tip and clip: Metal
• Eraser: Integrated rotary eraser in the pusher
• Supply form: Single piece (1 pc)
• Safety feature: Retractable lead tube (pocket-safe)

How to use

Advance lead gently using the top-mounted pusher; use short advances to avoid lead breakage. Replace used leads by removing the pusher or following the manufacturer refill method and insert standard 0.5 mm replacement leads. Rotate the pusher to access the integrated eraser when corrections are needed. Retract the lead tube before carrying the pencil in a pocket to maintain the pocket-safe condition.

What to consider before purchase

• Lead size is 0.5 mm — check suitability for your drawing or writing style
• Comes as a single piece — consider if you need multiple pencils for different lead types
• Barrel is hexagonal and matt black — confirm preference for shape and finish
• Integrated eraser size and replacement eraser availability

Recommendations

For precise lines and technical drawing, use short, controlled advances of the 0.5 mm lead and keep spare 0.5 mm leads on hand. The hexagonal shaft benefits extended writing sessions by reducing roll and improving grip; use the rotary eraser for small corrections and retract the lead tube for safe transport.
