Portaminas Staedtler 775 0,7 mm B

The Staedtler 775 mechanical pencil with a 0.7 mm B lead provides smooth, dark lines suitable for both writing and sketching. Its blue plastic barrel is shaped for comfortable, extended use and includes a precise feed mechanism to reduce breakage and maintain consistent line density. The pencil produces a grey writing color from the B-grade lead, offering good contrast on standard paper while remaining easy to erase and blend where needed.

Advantages

This mechanical pencil combines a reliable lead guidance system with a comfortable grip profile to support long writing sessions and detailed work. The 0.7 mm B lead offers softer, darker strokes than HB, improving legibility and tonal range for sketches. The body construction balances lightness and durability to withstand everyday use in school, office, or studio environments.

Suitable for

• General note-taking and extended writing
• Sketching and shading in illustrations
• Technical drawing with moderate line thickness
• Student use in classrooms and exams

Key specifications

• Lead diameter: 0.7 mm
• Lead grade: B (soft/dark)
• Barrel color: blue
• Writing color: grey
• Barrel material: durable plastic
• Suitable for: standard paper and sketch pads

How to use

Advance the lead gently using the end click or push mechanism to expose the required length; avoid overextending the lead to reduce breakage. Use light pressure for fine lines and increase pressure slightly for darker, thicker strokes afforded by the B-grade lead. Replace lead refills compatible with 0.7 mm diameter when the point wears down, and clean the tip periodically to prevent clogging from graphite dust.

Recommendations

The pencil performs best with 0.7 mm B graphite refills and on medium-weight paper to balance line darkness and smudge control. Store with the tip retracted and replace worn erasers or use a separate soft eraser to avoid surface abrasion.
