Rothenberger ROFROST II R290 Set eléctrico de congelación de tubos, 3/8 inch–1 1/4 inch (10–42 mm), 220–230 V

Plumbers and heating engineers often face the challenge of isolating pipe sections without draining entire systems. The Rothenberger ROFROST II R290 solves this by freezing the medium inside copper, steel, stainless steel, composite, or plastic pipes, creating secure ice plugs that allow repairs, valve replacements, or branch installations with minimal downtime. This electric pipe freezing unit works on pipes from 3/8" to 1 1/4" (10–42 mm) and runs on standard 220–230 V mains power. Its closed-circuit R290 (propane) refrigerant system delivers efficient, controlled freezing without the need for CO₂ or nitrogen bottles.

Why choose it

The ROFROST II R290 stands out for its versatility and ease of use. Unlike CO₂-based freezers, it requires no consumables—just plug it in and start freezing. The two freezing heads allow you to create two ice plugs simultaneously, reducing work time. The wide range of included adapters covers most common pipe sizes, and the steel case keeps everything organized and protected on the job site.

Ideal use cases

• Repairing or replacing valves and fittings without draining the system
• Installing branch lines or tees in existing piping
• Isolating sections of pipe in heating, plumbing, and air conditioning systems
• Working on copper, steel, stainless steel, composite, or plastic pipes

Good to know

The R290 refrigerant is a natural, environmentally friendly propane with zero ozone depletion potential and very low global warming potential. The unit operates on standard mains power, so no gas bottles or consumables are needed. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for safe operation and ensure adequate ventilation when using the freezer.
