Why choose it

The MTN Trainer 2 Mid GTX is engineered for technical mountain use. The 3F System connects the instep, sole, and heel for a secure, flexible fit, while the climbing lacing extends to the toe for precision on rocky sections. The GORE-TEX lining keeps water out without trapping sweat, and the Vibram outsole delivers confident traction on wet rock and loose ground.

Ideal use cases

• Alpine trekking and multi-day hut-to-hut tours
• Via ferrata and technical approaches
• Backpacking with medium to heavy loads
• Three-season hiking in wet or variable conditions

Good to know

Salewa recommends sizing up if you prefer thicker socks or have wider feet. The boot is designed for men's standard width. The protective rubber rand shields the upper from abrasion, and the anti-rock heel cup reduces impact on descents. Pair with gaiters for deep snow or mud.
