Sensor inductivo de proximidad Datalogic IS-05-A1-S1 M5 PNP — montaje enrasado

Datalogic IS-05-A1-S1 is an M5 flush-mount inductive proximity sensor with a PNP switching output designed for detecting metallic targets at short distances. Its compact, cylindrical housing allows mounting in confined spaces and straightforward integration into automated systems that require a PNP interface. The sensor is intended for position detection, part presence checks and basic machine safety interlocks where a short sensing range and reliable metal detection are needed.

Advantages

The flush mounting design enables installation where surrounding metal would otherwise affect sensing performance, while the small M5 form factor minimises space requirements. The PNP output provides compatibility with common PLCs and control modules that accept sourcing signals. Robust construction and simple electrical connection support stable operation in industrial environments and make the sensor easy to replace or retrofit into existing assemblies.

Suitable for

• Position sensing of metal components in compact assemblies
• Presence/absence detection on conveyor systems and pick-and-place stations
• Integration into PLC-controlled automation requiring PNP outputs
• Machine end-of-travel and basic safety interlock applications

Key specifications

• Sensing principle: inductive (metal detection)
• Mounting style: flush (embedded) mounting
• Thread size / housing: M5 cylindrical
• Output type: PNP (sourcing) switching
• Sensing range: designed for short-range detection of metallic targets
• Connection: single standard cable or connector interface for control wiring
• Operating environment: industrial use with resistance to typical mechanical and electrical interferences

How to use

Install the sensor in a properly sized M5 threaded hole or mounting fixture ensuring the active face is oriented toward the target surface. For flush mounting, ensure surrounding metal is placed per manufacturer guidelines to maintain the specified sensing performance. Connect the sensor wiring to the control system following PNP wiring conventions: supply the correct operating voltage, route the output to the PLC or input module, and observe polarity and grounding rules. Test switching behaviour with representative metal targets and adjust mounting distance if necessary to achieve reliable detection.

Recommendations

Use the sensor where short-range, reliable metal detection is required in tight spaces. Verify compatibility with your control inputs that accept PNP (sourcing) signals, and follow industry-standard wiring and mounting practices. For stable operation, avoid large gaps between the sensing face and the target and protect the cable or connector from mechanical strain and abrasion.
