Sharkoon Cat.6a SFTP RJ-45 Cat6a 5 m gris cable de red

The Sharkoon Cat.6a SFTP RJ-45 Cat6a 5 m Grey networking cable is made for high-speed wired connections where signal integrity and reliable transmission are required. This 5 metre cable uses S/FTP shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, and the standard RJ-45 connectors provide plug-and-play compatibility with routers, switches, network cards and other Ethernet-enabled equipment. The grey jacket offers a neutral appearance suitable for home or office installations while providing mechanical protection for the internal conductors.

Advantages

The shielded S/FTP design improves resistance to external interference and preserves data integrity at higher transmission rates. Cat6a performance supports frequencies suitable for 10 Gigabit Ethernet over the cable length. Durable RJ-45 connectors ensure secure mating with network ports, and the 5 m length balances flexibility and reach for typical workstation and rack-to-desk connections. The grey outer sheath is abrasion-resistant and keeps the cable discreet in most environments.

Suitable for

• Connecting PCs, laptops and network printers to routers or switches
• 10 Gigabit Ethernet links in short runs up to the cable length
• Office and home network installations requiring reduced interference
• Patch panels and structured cabling between equipment racks and desks

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6a
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall shield + individually foil-shielded pairs)
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Cable length: 5 m
• Color: Grey

How to use

Ensure both devices and network ports are powered off or that hot-plugging is supported by your equipment. Insert each RJ-45 connector into the corresponding Ethernet port until the latch clicks. Route the cable to avoid tight bends, heavy kinks and areas with strong electromagnetic sources where possible. For fixed installations, secure the cable with cable ties or clips without compressing the jacket; allow some slack for movement and maintenance.

Recommendations

Use the cable for short to medium length high-speed links within offices or homes. Maintain separation from high-voltage power lines and unshielded power cables to preserve the shielding benefits. For long permanent runs beyond recommended distances for 10 GbE, evaluate using permanent link cabling certified for the intended application.
