SHIVERPEAKS Cortacables solares 2,5-8mm² rojo BS02-22011

When working on photovoltaic installations, clean and precise cable preparation is non-negotiable. The SHIVERPEAKS Solar Cable Cutter BS02-22011 stands out from generic cutters with its dedicated focus on solar cables from 2.5 to 8 mm² (AWG 14–8), engineered to deliver burr-free cuts that preserve conductor integrity and reduce the risk of hot spots in high-current DC circuits. The spring-loaded mechanism and integrated locking system make repetitive cutting tasks less tiring and safer in the field, while the red ergonomic housing ensures quick identification in a crowded tool bag.

Highlights

• Precision-ground hardened steel blades for clean, burr-free cuts on copper and aluminium conductors
• Optimised for solar (PV) cables: 2.5–8 mm² metric, AWG 14–8
• Spring-loaded action reduces hand fatigue during high-volume cutting
• Integrated locking mechanism keeps blades closed for safe storage and transport
• Ergonomic plastic handles with non-slip grip for comfortable use
• Compact 160 mm length fits easily in tool pouches

In daily use

On a rooftop or in a workshop, this cable cutter proves its worth with every squeeze. The spring automatically returns the handles to the open position, so you can make rapid successive cuts without manually spreading the jaws. The locking latch engages with a simple slide, preventing accidental blade exposure when the tool is tossed into a bag. The blade geometry is specifically tuned for soft, multi-stranded solar cable conductors, avoiding the crushing or fraying that can occur with improper tools. While it excels on copper and aluminium wires, it is not intended for steel wire or steel-armoured cables—using it on such materials will damage the cutting edges.
