Switch gestionado Extralink Chiron Pro 24x RJ45 1000Mb/s PoE 4x SFP+ L3 370W

The Extralink Chiron Pro 24x RJ45 1000Mb/s PoE 4x SFP+ L3 370W is a managed Layer 3 gigabit switch designed for professional networks that require integrated PoE power and high-speed uplinks. It provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports with PoE support and four SFP+ slots for 10GbE uplinks, a switching capacity of 128 Gbit/s and a MAC address table of 16,000 entries. Built for continuous operation, the switch supports carrier-class features such as Ethernet OAM, QoS, advanced ACLs, QinQ and multiple VLAN switching modes, making it suitable for IP MAN, enterprise or public access networks.

Advantages

The switch combines comprehensive Layer 2 and Layer 3 functionality with a 370W PoE power budget, enabling centralized powering of IP cameras, wireless access points and VoIP phones. Its telecom-level protection protocols, fast convergence (under 50 ms for protection switching), LACP link aggregation and ISSU capability increase network availability and reduce maintenance windows. Hardware separation of the control and data planes and a robust switching capacity support stable routing and high throughput under load.

Suitable for

• IP surveillance systems requiring PoE-powered cameras across multiple VLANs
• Wireless infrastructure with PoE access points and high-capacity 10GbE uplinks
• Small-to-medium enterprise networks needing Layer 3 routing and QoS
• Metropolitan area networks and public Internet access points

How to use

Install the Extralink Chiron Pro in a standard 19" rack or on a stable surface and connect power and uplink fibers to the SFP+ ports as required. Configure basic network parameters through the management interface to assign VLANs, enable PoE per port and set IP routing or static routes for Layer 3 deployment. Use LACP to aggregate uplink links and configure QoS policies and ACLs to prioritise critical traffic. Monitor device status using Ethernet OAM and SNMP to detect and localize issues.

Recommendations

For reliable PoE distribution, calculate total connected device power consumption and ensure it does not exceed the 370 W budget; prioritize ports or configure PoE settings to prevent over-allocation. Use SFP+ modules certified for your cable type and test link aggregation and protection protocols in a maintenance window before production deployment.
