How to use

Install the card into an available PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot on a powered-down system and secure it with the bracket. Connect network cables to the four RJ45 ports using appropriate Cat5e/Cat6 cables for Gigabit operation. Boot the system and install drivers from the supplied CD or download the latest drivers from the manufacturer. Configure IP settings, VLAN (802.1Q) and any virtualization or offload features in the operating system or hypervisor as required.

Recommendations

For reliable Gigabit links use Cat5e or better cabling and ensure switch ports support required features (VLAN, jumbo frames, EEE). In virtualized deployments enable supported device queues and RSS/VMDq offloads to distribute network processing and reduce host CPU load.
