When everything works at the same time: increased convenience when making calls
Design or ergonomics? High technology or convenience? Family life or working from home? Preferably all at the same time! The Gigaset COMFORT 550HX fits perfectly in your hand and thanks to its timelessly elegant design, this German quality product looks just as good around your home as it does on your desk. The technology under its stylish case is innovative and its numerous functions will impress you. But this powerful handset for your router not only looks good, it can also be heard as it has excellent acoustics too. And your hands remain free thanks to its headset connection and the integrated speakerphone (with certified HD Voice quality), meaning the Gigaset COMFORT 550HX is also impressive in professional use.

When flexibility is required: advantages thanks to IP technology
Always well connected: Internet telephony and IP-based connections have many advantages, which is why more and more people are using them. You too can benefit from the advantages of this new technology: For example, excellent sound quality in HD, three phone numbers per connection or the possibility to make several calls at the same time. The Gigaset COMFORT 550HX cordless universal handsets make this possible without any problems, ensuring increased flexibility when making calls. They are versatile and compatible with all DECT/CAT-iq-enabled routers, such as FRITZ!Box or Telekom Speedport, so you can carry on using them even if you change your router.

When everything fits together: Have your phone always at hand
In the living room, kitchen or home office - put your Gigaset COMFORT 550HX wherever you need it. The handset no longer requires a base station, because the COMFORT 550HX connects directly to the DECT base of your Internet router wirelessly. The only other thing you need is a power socket for the charging cradle, giving you maximum flexibility within your home and short distances to the phone.
If you would like to equip your landline system with additional handsets, the Gigaset COMFORT 500HX can also be connected to a telephone base station.

Everything important at a glance: large display, optimal legibility
Nothing distracts you from what's important here: The Gigaset COMFORT 550HX is easy and pleasant to use, so you can concentrate fully on your conversations. It meets the highest Gigaset quality standards and navigation is intuitive. The large, high-contrast TFT colour display (44 x 35 mm) offers everything you would expect from a modern cordless phone: Graphics and fonts that ensure optimum legibility, a variety of colour schemes and symbols for operating the main menu. Jumbo mode, which provides an extra-large display of digits when dialling, the illuminated keypad and the large individual keys with noticeable key press ensure that everything can be seen at a glance.

When you want to switch off: simply activate call protection
It rings. And rings. And rings. Unwanted calls are a pain in the neck, but the Gigaset COMFORT 550HX can block them. The newly developed comfort call protection protects you from advertising calls or dangerous telephone scams. You can easily block up to 100 unwanted phone numbers by entering them in a blacklist or transferring them directly from the call history log. You can also block or mute anonymous callers. And thanks to time control, you can determine time periods when your phone should or should not ring. You can give callers preferential treatment by entering them in a VIP address book, so you can speak to them at any time.

When it comes to contacts: the Gigaset COMFORT 550HX's address book
Socialising is fun, and so is keeping in touch: The Gigaset COMFORT 550HX makes this easier than ever, as its large address book can store up to 200 contacts with surnames, first names and three phone numbers for each entry. These entries can also be easily exchanged between Gigaset handsets, making it easier and more convenient to manage your contacts. It is also practical: The programmable speed dial keys allow you to reach preferred callers more quickly, without tedious typing. Thanks to the automatic birthday reminder, you'll never miss their special day again. You can also assign your own VIP melodies to the most important people in your life, so you can hear who is calling you straight away.

Making things unique: your phone's personalisation options
The Gigaset COMFORT 550HX can be easily customised to your individual preferences thanks to its personalisation options. Among other things, you can choose between different display backgrounds: Either the preset dark background, which matches the modern design of this cordless phone, or a high-contrast white background. For the screensaver, you can choose between an analogue or digital clock. You can also customise the sound of the Gigaset COMFORT 550HX: Choose the right frequency range from two acoustic profiles for an optimal listening experience. You can even assign your own ringtones to important callers. This makes everyday life much easier — and also very unique.

When the family calls: useful functions for all generations
It stays in the family: The Gigaset COMFORT 550HX is a phone for all ages. Thanks to the large display and hearing aid compatibility, many older people can appreciate this phone. We have also thought of the next generation: The direct call function means that all keys trigger the dialling of a preassigned number. This is perfect for young children who cannot yet read, as the right number is always called — no matter which key they press. When a noise threshold is exceeded, the baby phone function automatically establishes a connection to other handsets in the household, or even to mum or dad's smartphone. This phone remains silent in baby phone mode: Incoming calls are only indicated visually on the display.

When organisation is required: separate your personal and professional life
Is this professional or personal? In times of working from home, the boundaries are often blurred. The Gigaset COMFORT 550HX helps you keep an eye on things: The HX handsets make you spatially independent and can be assigned phone numbers, provided that the base station can manage several phone numbers. This is the case with Gigaset IP phones and usually with VoIP routers. This means that your personal family life remains undisturbed, while business calls can be conducted professionally. Sound good? That's because it is: This organisational ability from Gigaset makes your life easier. Each and every day.

When it comes to the environment: radiation-free calling thanks to ECO DECT
Are cordless phones environmentally friendly? Yes, at least those from Gigaset are. This is thanks to the ECO DECT technology that the Gigaset COMFORT 550HX is equipped with. What ECO DECT means: The phones are radiation-free when in standby mode, even when you're using multiple handsets, provided that the base and all connected handsets support ECO DECT. During a call, the transmission strength automatically adapts to the distance between the handset and the base. This means that the shorter the distance between the base and handset of the Gigaset COMFORT 550HX, the lower the radiation. To make use of the maximum DECT range, you can also deactivate ECO DECT mode at any time.

How to use

Connect the Gigaset COMFORT 550HX to the DECT base of your Internet router by registering the handset to the router's DECT base according to the router's pairing procedure. Place the charging cradle on a power socket to charge the handset. Use the navigation keys and the large high-contrast display to access the address book, call lists and settings. To block unwanted calls, add numbers to the blacklist in the call protection menu or transfer entries from the call history. Program speed-dial keys and VIP entries via the handset menus for quick access to important contacts.

Recommendations

For best audio quality and multi-number support, register the handset to a DECT/CAT-iq-capable router (for example FRITZ!Box or Telekom Speedport). Keep the handset within the recommended indoor range for reduced transmission power; enable ECO DECT where supported to minimise radiation in standby. Use the blacklist and time control features to avoid unwanted calls and assign VIP ringtones for quick identification of important callers.
