Toma de red de superficie Extralink EX.9649 — 2x RJ45 Cat5e STP

Surface-mount network socket Extralink EX.9649 — 2x RJ45 Cat5e STP is a compact wall- or surface-mounted outlet that provides two RJ45 ports for terminating Cat5e network cabling. Designed for straightforward installation on visible surfaces, the unit supports shielded twisted-pair (STP) wiring and is intended for use where surface mounting is required or preferred. It enables connection of computers, laptops, printers, smart TVs, gaming consoles and other Ethernet devices while maintaining compatibility with standard Cat5e cabling and typical Ethernet infrastructure.

Advantages

The Extralink EX.9649 offers a practical surface-mounted form factor that simplifies retrofitting or adding network outlets without opening walls. With two RJ45 ports and STP compatibility the socket supports organized cable management and improved EMI protection when used with shielded cabling. The design is suitable for small offices, home networks and installations requiring visible mounting, providing consistent performance up to Cat5e bandwidth and supporting Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices when paired with appropriate cabling and power sources.

Suitable for

• Adding network outlets on walls or other visible surfaces where in-wall wiring is not possible
• Small office and home network connections for computers and peripherals
• Connecting PoE-powered devices such as access points, IP cameras or VoIP phones (with compatible cabling and power source)
• Terminating Cat5e network runs in retrofit or temporary installations

Key specifications

• Number of ports: 2 × RJ45
• Cable standard: Cat5e compatible
• Cabling type supported: Shielded Twisted Pair (STP)
• Maximum nominal frequency: 100 MHz
• Mounting type: Surface-mount housing for wall or panel installation

How to use

Mount the unit on a clean, flat surface using appropriate screws or adhesive matching the mounting holes. Terminate each Cat5e cable onto the RJ45 keystone or punch-down module according to the T568A or T568B wiring standard as required by your network. Ensure the STP cable shield is correctly grounded to maintain shielding effectiveness. After termination and mounting, connect network devices to the RJ45 ports using patch cables and verify link status and throughput with network testing tools.

Recommendations

Use Category 5e STP cabling and proper grounding for the shield to reduce electromagnetic interference. For installations requiring PoE, verify that the upstream switch or injector supports the necessary power class and that cable length and quality meet PoE requirements.
