Tornillo Fischer 670179 70 mm

Fischer 670179 70 mm screws are zinc-coated wood screws designed for reliable fastening in timber and wood-based materials. Each screw measures 70 mm in length with a 4 mm outer diameter and a 42 mm threaded portion, providing a balance of penetration depth and holding power. Supplied in a pack of 200 pieces, these screws are intended for repeat use in construction, carpentry and general woodworking tasks where corrosion resistance and consistent performance are required.

Advantages

The zinc finish offers basic corrosion protection suitable for indoor and covered applications. The 42 mm thread length delivers secure engagement with wood fibres, reducing the risk of loosening under normal loads. A 4 mm diameter gives sufficient shear and withdrawal strength for many timber connections while allowing easy driving with standard screwdrivers or power screwdrivers. The bulk pack of 200 pieces reduces the need for frequent reordering on medium and large-scale jobs.

Suitable for

• General carpentry and joinery
• Furniture assembly and repairs
• Fixing wooden battens, frames and panels
• Interior trim and molding installation
• DIY wood projects and small construction tasks

Key specifications

• Length: 70 mm
• Diameter: 4 mm
• Thread length: 42 mm
• Material/coating: zinc-coated steel
• Pack quantity: 200 pieces

How to use

Select an appropriate pilot hole or countersink when working with hardwoods to prevent splitting; softer woods may accept direct driving without pre-drilling. Use a compatible screwdriver bit or a power screwdriver set to the correct torque to avoid overdriving the screw head. Drive the screw until the head is flush with or slightly below the workpiece surface, depending on the intended finish. For load-bearing connections, ensure screws are spaced and oriented according to good carpentry practice.

Recommendations

For outdoor or high-humidity environments consider using stainless steel or specially coated fasteners. Store screws in a dry place to preserve the zinc coating, and match screw length and diameter to the thickness and type of wood for optimal performance.
