Insert the slimline drive into the bay, connect the SATA cable and secure the drive with the original mounting points. Reattach the bezel or access panel, reconnect power and boot the system. The operating system should detect the drive automatically; install any required drivers if prompted. Use standard disc-burning or media playback software to read, write and play optical discs.

Recommendations

Handle discs by the edges and avoid fingerprints on the readable surface. Use manufacturer-recommended blank media for best compatibility and burn at moderate speeds if data integrity is critical. Ensure firmware and system drivers are up to date for optimal drive performance and compatibility.
