Adaptador HDMI a VGA IcyBox IB-AC502a — adaptador HDMI A (conector macho) a VGA (conector hembra)

The icybox IB-AC502a HDMI-to-VGA adapter converts an HDMI A output to a VGA female connector, enabling connection of HDMI source devices to VGA displays or projectors. This passive adapter preserves video signal compatibility when the HDMI source offers an analog VGA-compatible output (commonly available on some graphics cards and media players). It is intended for straightforward video signal routing where only video (no audio) is required and where the source supports the necessary analog signalling.

Advantages

The adapter provides a compact and low-profile solution to connect HDMI-equipped devices to legacy VGA displays without needing complex converters or external power. Its male HDMI A to female VGA form factor reduces cable clutter and simplifies setup for basic video output. Because it is passive, it introduces no active electronics or power requirements when used with compatible sources.

Suitable for

• Connecting laptops or media devices with HDMI output to older VGA monitors
• Projector setups in meeting rooms or classrooms that only accept VGA
• Temporary presentations or locations where only VGA cabling is available

Key specifications

• Connector A: HDMI A (male)
• Connector B: VGA (female)
• Function: Passive HDMI-to-VGA video adapter (video only)
• Supported signal: VGA analog video when source provides compatible output
• Typical use: Video signal routing from HDMI source to VGA display

How to use

Insert the HDMI A male end of the adapter into the HDMI output of the source device, then connect a standard VGA cable from the adapter's VGA female port to the VGA input of the display or projector. Power on both devices and select the appropriate input on the display. Because the adapter is passive and carries only video, ensure the source device outputs an analog-compatible signal and manage audio separately if required through other outputs or external speakers.

Recommendations

Use this passive adapter where the HDMI source supports analog VGA signalling; if the source does not provide an analog output, use an active HDMI-to-VGA converter with signal conversion and external power. For best results, use high-quality VGA cables and set the display resolution on the source to a standard VGA-compatible resolution supported by the target monitor or projector.
