Adaptador ShiverPeaks 71270-8 — conectividad 8/4 a adaptador TAE para conexiones telefónicas

Adapter ShiverPeaks 71270-8 is a compact connectivity adapter that converts an 8/4 (Western) telephone connector to a TAE socket, enabling connection between modern modular cables and TAE-equipped telephony devices. Designed for straightforward integration in domestic and small office environments, the adapter allows use of phones, modems and line splitters that require a TAE interface while using existing 8/4 wiring.

Advantages

The adapter provides a single-step physical conversion from an 8/4 modular plug to a TAE N-type socket without requiring rewiring or additional tools. Its compact form factor makes it easy to place near telephony devices and to store when not in use. The adapter supports common telephony signal levels and maintains reliable contact through standard terminals, preserving voice quality and basic line functions when connecting legacy TAE devices to modern cabling.

Suitable for

• Connecting TAE phones to networks wired with 8/4 modular cables
• Integrating older modems or fax machines that use TAE sockets into modern wiring
• Temporary or permanent installations in homes and small offices
• Use with line splitters and basic telephony equipment requiring a TAE interface

Key specifications

• Conversion type: 8/4 modular (Western) plug to TAE N-type socket
• Compatibility: standard telephony signal levels and pin assignments for 8/4 and TAE interfaces
• Form factor: compact inline adapter suitable for desktop or wall-adjacent use
• Materials: housing and contacts designed for conventional telephony cabling environments

How to use

Insert the 8/4 modular plug of your telephone cable into the adapter’s 8/4 inlet and then connect the TAE-equipped device to the adapter’s TAE socket. Ensure connectors are fully seated to establish a secure electrical contact. If using with a wall-mounted or desk-mounted socket, position the adapter so the cable is not strained. No tools or configuration are required; the adapter performs passive signal routing between the two connector types.

Recommendations

Use the adapter indoors in dry environments and avoid placing it where it can be exposed to excessive pulling or bending of cables. For installations requiring surge protection or enhanced shielding, consider combining the adapter with appropriate protective devices or professionally installed wiring solutions.
