Cable alargador D-Sub ShiverPeaks AK 406 25 pines conector macho/hembra, 7 m

The ShiverPeaks AK 406 D-Sub extension cable with 25-pin male-to-female connectors extends existing D-Sub connections over a distance of 7 m. It is intended for use with devices and interfaces that use the 25-pin D-Sub form factor, including RS-232 serial links, parallel interfaces and legacy computer or industrial equipment. The cable provides a fixed wired extension without additional signal conversion or active electronics, enabling a direct continuation of the original connector wiring.

Advantages

This 25-pin D-Sub extension cable offers a reliable passive extension with standard male and female connectors that align with common D-Sub ports. The 7 m length is suited for rack-to-rack or bench-to-equipment connections where modest distance is required while preserving pin assignments. The straightforward construction reduces signal path complexity and is compatible with devices that expect a straight-through connection.

Suitable for

• Extending RS-232 serial connections between instruments and control equipment
• Extending parallel printer or legacy parallel interfaces
• Connecting computer ports to nearby peripherals or test equipment
• Fixed installations in labs, workshops or industrial cabinets requiring a passive extension

Key specifications

• Connector type: 25-pin D-Sub male to 25-pin D-Sub female
• Cable length: 7 m
• Cable function: passive straight-through extension
• Typical applications: serial (RS-232), parallel and legacy D-Sub interfaces
• Construction: shielded cable with molded or metal-backed D-Sub housings (depending on variant)

How to use

Connect the male end of the extension cable to the female D-Sub port of the source device and attach the female end to the male connector of the target device. Secure the connectors using the integrated thumbscrews or fastening hardware to maintain a stable mechanical and electrical connection. Ensure devices are powered down or signalling is idle during connection or disconnection when working with sensitive equipment. No special drivers or configuration are required for use as a passive extension; the cable maintains the existing pinout of the original connections.

Recommendations

For best signal integrity, avoid running the cable in parallel with high-voltage mains lines or high-frequency data lines. Keep cable runs as short as practical and use proper strain relief to protect connectors. Verify pinout compatibility between devices before use, especially for applications carrying control or handshake lines. If longer runs or active signal conditioning are needed, consider using a purpose-built signal extender or repeater.
