Cable USB ShiverPeaks Basic-S USB 3.2 Gen 2 0,5 m

The ShiverPeaks Basic-S USB cable USB 3.2 Gen 2 0.5 m is a short, high-speed USB A–to–USB A data cable designed for connections between devices with standard USB A ports. Supporting USB 3.2 Gen 2 (also referred to as USB 3.1 Gen 2), it enables data transfer rates up to 10 Gbit/s over a 0.5 metre length. The cable comes in a grey finish and uses gold-plated contacts to improve contact reliability and resist corrosion.

Advantages

This USB cable provides high-speed data transfer up to 10 Gbit/s while keeping a compact 0.5 m length that reduces cable clutter and signal degradation. Gold-plated contacts increase connector durability and maintain stable connections. The use of the USB 3.2 Gen 2 specification ensures backward compatibility with earlier USB standards, allowing flexible use across a wide range of devices with USB A ports.

Suitable for

• Direct data transfer between computers, external drives, and storage enclosures with USB A ports
• Short cable runs where minimal slack and tidy cable management are required
• Connecting peripherals that support USB 3.x speeds for faster file transfer and backup

Key specifications

• Connector type: USB A to USB A
• USB version: USB 3.2 Gen 2 (3.1 Gen 2)
• Maximum data transfer rate: up to 10 Gbit/s
• Cable length: 0.5 m
• Contact plating: gold-plated contacts
• Colour: grey

How to use

Plug each USB A connector into the corresponding USB A ports on the two devices to be connected. Ensure both devices support USB A connections and, for maximum throughput, that connected devices support USB 3.2 Gen 2. After connecting, the operating systems should detect the devices automatically; follow any on-screen prompts to complete pairing, mounting, or driver installation if required. For safe removal of storage devices, use the operating system's eject or safe removal feature before disconnecting the cable.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, keep the cable length short and avoid tight bends near the connectors. Use the ShiverPeaks Basic-S cable for direct device-to-device connections where a short, robust USB A–to–A connection is needed. Avoid using the cable in environments with strong electromagnetic interference and disconnect storage devices using the system safe-eject procedure.
