Cazo de Buyer 6242.16 1,8L redondo cobre acero inoxidable

The de Buyer 6242.16 saucepan is a 1.8L round cooking pan made with a copper exterior and a stainless steel interior. With a 16 cm diameter, this saucepan combines the high thermal conductivity of copper with the non-reactive, easy-care surface of stainless steel, providing even heat distribution and controlled cooking. The design is suitable for stovetop use and offers a professional appearance with an elegant copper finish.

Advantages

The copper body ensures rapid and uniform heat transfer, reducing hot spots and allowing precise temperature control. The stainless steel cooking surface resists food reactions and simplifies cleaning and maintenance. Its compact 1.8L capacity and 16 cm diameter make it versatile for small-batch cooking, sauces, reheating, and reductions. The durable construction supports frequent use while preserving performance over time.

Suitable for

• Preparing sauces, gravies and reductions
• Simmering small portions of soups or stews
• Heating milk, melting butter or chocolate
• Reheating leftovers and warming single servings

Key specifications

• Capacity: 1.8 liters
• Shape: Round
• Diameter: 16 cm
• Exterior material: Copper (for thermal conductivity)
• Interior material: Stainless steel (food-safe, easy to clean)
• Intended use: Stovetop cooking

How to use

Use the saucepan on compatible stovetop surfaces and heat gradually to take advantage of copper's fast response to temperature changes. Preheat briefly on low to medium heat, then adjust as needed for simmering, reducing or melting. Avoid empty overheating: do not heat the pan for prolonged periods without contents. After cooking, allow the pan to cool slightly before cleaning. Clean the stainless steel interior with warm soapy water; for the copper exterior follow manufacturer guidance for polishing if a bright finish is desired.

Recommendations

For best performance, avoid sudden, extreme temperature changes and use moderate heat for delicate tasks. Use non-abrasive utensils on the stainless steel interior and dry the pan thoroughly after washing to preserve the copper exterior. Regular gentle polishing of the outer copper surface will maintain its appearance without affecting cooking performance.
