HiSmart NV821693 is a 2-pole Class B surge protection device designed for low-voltage AC distribution systems up to 385 VAC. It is intended for installation in the incoming line of a building's distribution board and limits high-energy transient overvoltages such as those caused by nearby lightning. The device is compatible with TT, IT, TN-S, TN-C and TN-C-S earthing systems and meets standards IEC 61643-1, GB18802.1 and GB50057. It can discharge lightning stroke currents up to 100 kA.

How to use

Install the HiSmart NV821693 on a standard 35 mm DIN rail in the incoming line section of the low-voltage distribution board. Connect the two poles according to the system configuration and follow local wiring regulations and earthing requirements. Ensure conductor sizes are within the recommended 6–10 mm² range and that the unit is accessible for inspection. Commission the system only after verifying correct wiring and protective device coordination.

Recommendations

Place the device as close as practical to the distribution board’s main incoming terminal to minimize lead length to protected circuits. Periodically inspect the SPD and surrounding connections after major surge events and during routine electrical maintenance.
