HP HPE Comware módulo SFP+ de 4 puertos 1/10G para switches 5140HI/5520HI/5600HI

The HP HPE Comware 4-port 1/10G SFP+ module expands HPE 5140HI, 5520HI and 5600HI switches with four hot-pluggable SFP+ ports that accept 1 G and 10 G optics. Intended for enterprise switching environments, the module provides flexible fiber connectivity for uplinks, stacking links or high-speed server connections. The compact, hot-swappable design allows installation or replacement without powering down the host switch.

Advantages

This module supports both 1 G and 10 G SFP/SFP+ optics, enabling backward compatibility with existing 1G transceivers while providing 10G capacity where needed. Hot-pluggable construction simplifies upgrades and maintenance, and the four independent ports allow multiple high-speed links from a single expansion slot. The module is designed to integrate with HPE Comware-based switches, preserving switch management features and link diagnostics.

Suitable for

• Adding fiber uplinks between access and aggregation switches
• Connecting high-performance servers or storage to top-of-rack switches
• Creating redundant or aggregated links for increased bandwidth and resiliency
• Gradual migration from 1G to 10G environments using mixed optics

When it may not be suitable

This module is specifically designed for HPE 5140HI, 5520HI and 5600HI switch series; it may not be compatible with other switch families or vendors. It provides electrical and optical ports only and does not include optics or fiber cabling, so additional transceivers and appropriate fiber patching are required to establish links.

Key specifications

• Port type: four SFP+ ports supporting 1 G and 10 G optics
• Form factor: hot-pluggable module for compatible HPE switches
• Typical use: uplinks, server/storage links, link aggregation
• Weight: 0.2994 kg

How to use

Power down is not required for installation; follow the host switch documentation to remove the blank or existing module and insert the SFP+ module into the expansion slot until it seats. After insertion, install compatible SFP or SFP+ optics into the module ports and connect fiber patch cords to the remote devices. Verify link status and speed through the switch management interface and configure port settings, VLANs, or link aggregation as required for your network design.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm compatibility with your specific switch model and firmware revision
• Plan which SFP or SFP+ optics and fiber type (single-mode or multimode) you will use
• Ensure the required number of ports and desired link speeds match your network needs

Recommendations

Use certified or vendor-recommended SFP/SFP+ transceivers and maintain compatible firmware on HPE switches to ensure predictable performance and proper link negotiation between 1 G and 10 G optics.
