MICRON / CRUCIAL SSD - Crucial P310 - 1 TB - PCIe Gen4 x4 - M.2 2280

Shift up to Gen4 speed with an NVMe SSD offering blazing fast sequential reads up to 7,100 MB/s. This drive delivers significantly higher performance than Gen3 NVMe and SATA drives, reducing boot times, accelerating file transfers, and shortening game load times for both laptops and desktops. It is compatible with systems that support Gen3 and Gen4 interfaces and is designed for straightforward installation to extend device usefulness.

Advantages

The Gen4 NVMe SSD provides up to 2x the speed of Gen3 NVMe drives and about 20x the speed of typical SATA SSDs, resulting in faster system bootups, improved application responsiveness, and quicker transfers of large files. It offers noticeably better performance for tasks such as gaming and creative applications like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as office programs including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. A heatsink version will be available soon for improved thermal management.

Key specifications

• Interface: PCIe Gen4 NVMe (backward compatible with Gen3)
• Sequential read speed: up to 7,100 MB/s
• Performance compared to Gen3: up to 2× faster
• Performance compared to SATA: up to 20× faster
• Compatibility: Gen3 and Gen4 laptops and desktops
• Form factor: M.2 (typical for NVMe SSDs)

How to use

Install the M.2 NVMe SSD into an available M.2 slot on a Gen3- or Gen4-capable motherboard or laptop, securing it with the mounting screw. After physical installation, initialize and format the drive in your operating system if required, then migrate your data or install the OS for faster boot and application load times. For sustained heavy workloads, consider the upcoming heatsink model to improve thermal performance.

Recommendations

Use in systems that support PCIe Gen3 or Gen4 to take advantage of higher transfer speeds; ensure your BIOS and drivers are up to date for optimal compatibility and stability.
