Bastidor móvil icy dock MB038SP-B para 8 unidades SATA/SAS de 2,5 pulgadas, compatible con 1 bahía de 5,25 pulgadas

The icy dock MB038SP-B is a mobile rack that fits a single 5.25" bay and accepts up to eight 2.5" SATA or SAS drives. Designed for applications where compact, hot-swappable storage is required, the unit enables easy insertion and removal of drives without opening the chassis. The tray-based design supports a high drive density while preserving front-bay accessibility for maintenance, backups, and rapid drive replacement.

Advantages

The MB038SP-B provides a high-density storage solution for systems with a single 5.25" bay, enabling hot-swap access to eight 2.5" drives in a compact footprint. It is compatible with both SATA and SAS 2.5" drives, reducing the need for internal reconfiguration when expanding storage. The mobile rack simplifies drive management and serviceability by allowing quick replacement or reconfiguration of drives, supporting workflows such as RAID rebuilds and incremental backups.

Suitable for

• Desktop systems requiring additional internal storage without extra drive bays
• Small servers and workstation environments needing hot-swap access to multiple 2.5" drives
• RAID arrays and backup systems that benefit from easy drive replacement and high density
• Environments where frequent drive swap-outs are required for diagnostics or data transport

Key specifications

• Form factor: fits one 5.25" front bay
• Drive capacity: up to 8 × 2.5" drives
• Supported drive interfaces: SATA and SAS (2.5" form factor)
• Hot-swap support: yes, front-accessible drive trays for hot-swapping
• Drive mounting: removable drive trays for tool-less or simplified drive insertion and removal
• Compatibility: designed for standard desktop and server chassis with a 5.25" bay

How to use

Install the mobile rack into an available 5.25" bay following your chassis instructions for securing front-bay devices. Mount 2.5" SATA or SAS drives into the individual trays, then slide each tray into the rack until it engages the internal connector. Ensure proper SATA/SAS cabling and power connections are made inside the system before powering on. To replace or add drives, power down if required by your system or use the hot-swap function where supported, then pull the tray and swap the drive as necessary.

Recommendations

Verify drive and controller compatibility with 2.5" SATA or SAS devices and follow the host system’s guidelines for hot-swapping and RAID management. Use appropriate cooling and airflow within the chassis to maintain drive temperatures, and ensure secure mounting to minimize vibration. Regularly back up critical data before performing drive swaps or RAID changes.
