Cable USB ShiverPeaks BASIC S USB 3.2 Gen 2 0,5 m

The ShiverPeaks BASIC S USB Cable is a 0.5 m USB-C to USB-C data cable designed for high-speed data transfer and reliable connectivity. It supports the USB 3.2 Gen 2 (also referenced as USB 3.1 Gen 2) standard with a maximum theoretical data transfer rate of 20 Gbit/s. The cable features gold-plated contacts and a grey jacket, intended for short-range connections between compatible devices such as laptops, external drives and modern mobile devices.

Advantages

The cable’s support for USB 3.2 Gen 2 enables high-bandwidth file transfers and reduced waiting times when moving large files. Gold-plated contacts provide improved corrosion resistance and stable signal contact over repeated insertions. Its 0.5 m length reduces cable clutter on desks and is convenient for close-proximity connections where long cables are unnecessary. The grey finish offers a neutral appearance that fits into most work and home setups.

Suitable for

• Connecting USB-C laptops to USB-C external SSDs or HDDs for fast data transfer
• Linking smartphones or tablets with USB-C ports to compatible docking stations or hubs
• Short-range connections between USB-C peripherals and host devices on a desk

Key specifications

• Connector type: USB C to USB C
• USB standard: USB 3.2 Gen 2 (3.1 Gen 2)
• Maximum data transfer rate: 20 Gbit/s (theoretical)
• Cable length: 0.5 m
• Contact plating: gold-plated contacts
• Colour: Grey

How to use

Plug one USB-C connector into the host device and the other into the target device, ensuring both connectors are fully inserted. For optimal data transfer performance, verify that both connected devices support USB 3.2 Gen 2; if one device supports a lower USB version, transfer speeds will be limited to the lower specification. Avoid bending the cable sharply near the connectors and route it to prevent stress on the connector ends.

Recommendations

Use the 0.5 m length for close-proximity setups such as connecting a laptop to a nearby external drive or docking station. For sustained high-speed transfers, ensure devices are properly seated and that operating system drivers and firmware are up to date. Store the cable without tight coils to preserve connector integrity.
