Cable USB shiverpeaks Basic-S USB 3.2 Gen 2 2 m gris

The shiverpeaks Basic-S USB cable is a 2 m grey USB A to USB A cable designed to support USB 3.2 Gen 2 (3.1 Gen 2) data transfer speeds up to 10 Gbit/s. It features gold-plated connector contacts to improve contact reliability and resistance to corrosion. The cable is intended for connecting peripherals and devices that use USB A connectors and for high-speed data transfer where a 2 metre reach is required.

Advantages

The cable supports the USB 3.2 Gen 2 specification for data transfer up to 10 Gbit/s, enabling faster file transfers compared with earlier USB generations. Gold-plated connector contacts provide improved conductivity and reduced oxidation for more stable connections over time. A 2 m length gives flexible placement options for desktops, workstations and home setups while the neutral grey colour integrates discreetly with most setups.

Suitable for

• Connecting external hard drives and SSD enclosures with USB A interfaces
• Linking printers, scanners and other USB A peripherals to a host
• Transferring large files between compatible devices at speeds up to 10 Gbit/s
• Extending cable reach behind desks, audio racks or media cabinets

Key specifications

• Connector types: USB A to USB A
• USB version: USB 3.2 Gen 2 (3.1 Gen 2), up to 10 Gbit/s
• Cable length: 2 m
• Connector plating: gold-plated contacts
• Colour: grey

How to use

Ensure both devices have compatible USB A ports that support the intended data transfer mode. Insert one USB A connector into the host device and the other into the peripheral device until each connector seats firmly. For maximum transfer rates, connect both devices to ports that support USB 3.2 Gen 2; otherwise the connection will operate at the highest mutually supported USB speed. Avoid bending the cable sharply near the connectors and route it to prevent strain.

Recommendations

For reliable high-speed transfers, use the shiverpeaks Basic-S cable with devices and host ports that explicitly support USB 3.2 Gen 2. Keep connectors clean and free of debris. If the cable is used in a confined space, avoid tight coils and excessive tension to maintain long-term performance.
