TL-SF1008P is an unmanaged 8-port 10/100Mbps desktop switch with 4 Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports. It requires no configuration and can automatically detect and supply power to IEEE 802.3af compliant Powered Devices (PDs), allowing both data and power to be delivered over a single Ethernet cable to devices such as access points, IP cameras or IP phones.

Advantages

The switch provides four PoE-enabled RJ45 ports (ports 1–4) that automatically negotiate power with connected PDs, simplifying installation in locations without nearby power outlets. The unit is plug-and-play, compactly designed for desktop use, and enables expansion of a home or small office network without additional power cabling.

Install the TL-SF1008P on a desktop or shelf and connect the switch to your network via any non-PoE port or uplink. Plug IEEE 802.3af-compliant devices into ports 1–4 to provide both data and power over a single Ethernet cable. The switch will automatically detect PDs and supply power; no software configuration is required.

Recommendations

To avoid unexpected power shutdowns, ensure the total PoE power draw of connected devices does not routinely exceed 57 W. Prioritize critical devices on ports 1–3 when connecting multiple PoE devices so they remain powered if the switch enforces port-priority during overload.
