Western Digital Ultrastar DC HC580 WUH722422ALE6L1 disco duro interno 22 TB 7200 RPM 512 MB 3,5 inch SATA III SED

The Western Digital Ultrastar DC HC580 (WUH722422ALE6L1, 0F62784) is a 22 TB enterprise-class 3.5-inch hard drive engineered for the relentless growth of data in hyperscale and traditional data centres. Built on Western Digital's energy-assisted PMR platform with enhanced OptiNAND technology and a HelioSeal helium-filled design, it lets organisations maximise storage density even in space- and power-constrained environments.

Advantages

OptiNAND integration improves capacity, performance and reliability, while Conventional Magnetic Recording (CMR) guarantees consistent throughput without the write penalties of SMR drives. The drive is a Self-Encrypting Drive (SED) supporting TCG hardware encryption, delivering secure data-at-rest protection. With a projected 2.5 million hours MTBF and a 550 TB/year workload rating, the HC580 is purpose-built for 24/7 always-on operation.

Suitable for

• Cloud and hyperscale storage infrastructure
• Enterprise servers, JBOD and storage arrays
• High-capacity NAS and backup/archival systems
• Big-data, surveillance and bulk content repositories

How to use

Mount the drive in a standard 3.5-inch bay or enterprise drive carrier, connect the SATA data and power cables, then initialise and format it through your operating system, RAID controller or NAS interface. For data-at-rest security, enable the drive's TCG self-encryption via a compatible host or controller.

Recommendations

For maximum reliability, deploy the Ultrastar DC HC580 in vibration-tolerant enterprise enclosures and pair it with RAID or erasure-coding for redundancy. Its CMR design and high workload rating make it an excellent choice wherever capacity, endurance and round-the-clock availability matter most.
